Information About the Houston Cobras

The Houston Cobras organization was established in 2001 for the purpose of providing a vehicle for young women to excel in the game of basketball.

Our Mission is to develop fundamental skills and provide a venue to comete with the best players at their respective levels in the country.

Who are we?

We are a female elite competitive basketball program located in the Houston and surrounding area.

What it is?

A program developed for elite female basketball who can and what to play basketball at the next level (college). It is a select oganization looking for the best players. Our teams are associated with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and we belong to the AAU Gulf Association.

Where?

Most of our practices are held in gyms associated with the Cy-Fair Independent School District.  Times and locations vary.  Tournaments are played in Houston and surroundings areas during the spring, however during the summer our traveling teams travel throughout the United States of America.  Our goal is to have our players compete against the best female athletes in the country as these are the players they are competing against for scholarships.

What Is The Commitment?

Practices are held mainly twice a week approximately two to three hours per session. Tournaments are mostly held on the weekend and often three to six games are played from Friday night to Sunday evening.
